Australian Museum

Progress Shark was an international sensation. Created for WorldPride 2023 by artist George Buchanan, this ‘absurd and wonderful’ shark statue wearing a Progress Pride flag as a swimsuit made headlines across the world.

But with WorldPride taking place down under, soaring flight prices, accomodation, and sell-out events meant that, for many, the fabulous fish was simply out of reach.

So we gave everyone around the globe a chance to feel the Progress Shark love, by creating an AR filter that brought the colourful creature to them, no matter where they were in the world.
